Ever had a Twixel? Me either. They’ve been around since the spring of this year, but until a fateful trip to Target by a co-worker I had not ventured into this territory. The flavor I got to try is Triple Chocolate. Twixels also come in Creamy Caramel and French Vanilla. The Triple Chocolate name reminded me of the Chocolate Fudge flavor of the early 1990’s, but the caramel and vanilla are no Cookies n’ Cream Twix, no matter how much I want them to be.
So are Twixels tasty?

Packaging
Twixels come in a long box with concave sides. The box claims that there are 35 calories per stick and when you open it all the cookie sticks are separated out into 3 compartments in a gold wrapped sleeve. The downside here is that if I don’t eat all 16 sticks, sealing them back up for freshness later is going to be a task.
Appearance
Twixels look like little Twixes. I even placed a regular size caramel Twix bar side by side, quite a size difference!
Twixels also remind me a lot of European cookies and candies of a similar nature. The smell though when you open the package hits you like a delicious wall of chocolate. When broken apart the caramel stretches and strings out just like on TV commercials. The triad that makes up the Triple Chocolate is a dark chocolate coating, chocolate cookie and chocolate caramel- all very visible.
Taste
I could eat Twixels all day. According to my math at 35 calories per stick and 16 sticks, I could make this my lunch at 560 calories. The recommended serving size is 4 sticks. While the box claims dark chocolate coating, it looks like milk. It smells like dark but tastes like milk. Explain that one to me. The cookie crunches just enough, but isn’t messy. The cookie and caramel are very lightly chocolate flavored, sweet, creamy and delicious. These receive as many thumbs up as I have to give: two.
