If there was anything more delectable than a See’s Scotchmallow bar, I haven’t tasted it yet. What is a Scotchmallow bar you might ask? A Scotchmallow bar is a thick layer of caramel (not the runny kind) a and thick layer of marshmallow tinted with the flavor of honey covered in dark chocolate. Sure, See’s isn’t the only creator of this combination but the quality of their dark caramel paired with the fluffiness of marshmallow and their dark chocolate coating makes for a taste experience to be had.
The Scotchmallow actually comes in a couple of forms, in an almost truffle size, a cylindrical, tall shape of a good inch in height and width. It is the first chocolate candy I reach for in someone else’s See’s box and the last one when it’s my box of chocolates.
The form where you get the most bang for your buck and could achieve chocolate overload is with the bar shape. 5 inches in length and a half inch in width, this Scotchmallow bar provides for a delicious chocolate candy treat in one sitting or spread out over several hours.
Of course if the bar is too much and the truffle size not enough, Easter always brings out the Scotchmallow eggs, which are nice size in between the two and can be purchased in half dozen quantities.
All in all, I admit to having made special trips to a See’s store to procure the precious item, even buying several at a time so that I could have a ready supply available for when the craving strikes. Currently, that supply has been exhausted and a trip needs to be planned!
