Milky Way Midnight
02 Sep
Usually when a large commerical chocolate bar goes dark and tries to offer their milk chocolate version with dark chocolate, the results are mixed. In this case, Mars went ahead and augmented their original Milky Way recipe to mesh better with the dark chocolate coating and in doing so, have achieved success!
Milky Way Midnight has to be one of my all time favorite transitional chocolate candy bars. The caramel is still there, the quality of dark chocolate exceeds most mass produced dark chocolate offerings but the fun twist on why it works is the white vanilla nougat. Instead of the milk chocolate nougat that the classic bar offers, the Midnight bursts onto the scene with the snow white serenity of vanilla nougat. Delicious.
Here’s to you Mars, for coming up with a good spin off. Although you’re still not forgiven for Snickers Charged. Now that is a bar to be discontinued and whoever came up with the idea, fired. Not only that guy, but whoever gave the green light for R&D to develop it. Ick.
Original Milky Way and Milkway Midnight. A perfect pairing for any chocoholic.

I love candy bars and I bathe in melted chocolate every evening.

Mars has consistently been at the top of the food chain in candy bars.
But now that I know that half their business is invested in Pet Foods, I’m not sure how I feel about their candy anymore. Are they processed in the same factories? *shudder*
