Continuing on with chocolate candy from Sweden, we bring to you today the most culturally insensitively named chocolate I’ve found to date. While I really doubt the Marabou candy company (or Kraft Foods for that matter) meant anything by it, but does this wrapper make you do a double take?

Actually it made me laugh and think “I must try this! What does a Japp taste like?” I did find a series of TV commercials (in English), they’re at the bottom of the post.
Packaging
Well it’s pretty obvious what the name of the chocolate candy bar is. The fine print was translated for me and reads “Milk chocolate filled with milk chocolate meringue and caramel.”
Appearance
Two bars! I do love that as a standard for Marabou, that they break up the bars into two pieces. One for now and one for 5mins later. I cannot claim that the bar was purchased squished already, it did make a very long trip back home and the caramel could have eeked out at any time.

Smell and Appearance Inside
It smells like a Milky Way and looks like a Milky Way, just with a thinner chocolate coating and less thick of a caramel layer.

Taste
It’s basically a sharper tasting Milky Way! I think this is due to the chocolate coating. I actually prefer the thicker, smoother chocolate coating on a Milky Way bar to this thinner layer, but the caramel while less in amount on the bar is actually thicker than a Milky Way’s. My guess is the Milky Way is partially like that for the stringy-ness factor when you bite in and pull it apart. The nougat or meringue in this case is almost identical. Scary.
So if you’re wondering what a Japp tastes like- it tastes like a Milky Way!
