Hot Chocolate Recipe Chowdown

Looking to create a hot chocolate this winter that goes beyond opening up a foil packet with a pigtailed blonde on it? Me too. There are some serious hot chocolate recipes out there that any chocolate candy enthusiast would be proud to whip up in their own kitchen.

Kitchenantics adapted this adult version

Milk- 1 cup
Dark chocolate- 50 grams
Cinnamon powder- 1/4 tsp (or about 1 inch of a cinnamon stick)
Honey- 2 tsp
Dark brown sugar- 1 tsp
Vanilla extract- 1/2 tsp
Dark rum or Kahlua- 1 tbsp or to taste (optional)

Famous French Desserts
brings you a French twist on this chocolate treat
28 fl. oz. Whole Milk
7 oz. Unsweetened Baking Chocolate
1 cup Crème Fraîche (or heavy cream)
1/3 cup Granulated Sugar
Pinch of Powdered Vanilla (optional)
2 tbsp. Cocoa Powder (for top)
1 1/2 cup Fresh or Canned Whipped Cream (for top)

Tastebook Aztec Hot Chocolate

1⅔ cups water
½ vanilla bean, split lengthwise
1 red chili pepper, split and de-seeded
1 cinnamon stick
1½ ounce chocolate (bittersweet)

Vegan Friendly Hot Chocolate from All Recipes
3 tablespoons canned coconut milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 tablespoons white sugar
4 1/2 teaspoons cocoa powder
1 dash ground cinnamon
1 cup boiling water

Dark Chocolate Hot Chocolate from Green & Black’s
1 tbsp (15ml) water
1 tbsp (15ml) Green & Black’s Hot Chocolate
½ cup (125 ml) Green & Black’s Dark 70% chocolate, broken into small pieces
20g (6 squares) Ruby Port

1 cup white chocolate chips
1 cup heavy cream
4 cups half-and-half
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

4 cups milk, divided
1 Vanilla Bean
6 ounce dark chocolate (at least 70% cacao), chopped
4 tablespoons sugar
2/3 cup caramel, melted
3/4 teaspoon Vanilla Fleur de Sel
