Emerald Cocoa Roast Almonds

I love the Emerald Nuts commercials, but do I love the nuts themselves? A co-worker brought me these 100 calorie packs of Cocoa Roast Almonds in the dark chocolate variety and well, I have eaten the whole thing easily, despite the fact that they like like they are covered in dirt. Was it delicious?

Packaging
The cute little packets contained about a handful of the nuts, clearly because of the 100 calorie limit, which I found to be both satisfying and easier to justify eating. They come in packs, 7 in a box, which I now want to go over to my co-workers desk and take the remaining 5.

Appearance
Yes, they look like they were rolled around in the dirt. They don’t smell like it at all, more of a truffle-y smell to them.

Taste
Oh they’re good. At first I couldn’t put my finger on what the cocoa powder reminded me of. First I thought it was more like a truffle chocolate, in particular that dusting that is on the Truffetes that you get every year at Costco. Then I thought it was the smell of hot chocolate mix before you add water and on the very last nut it hit me! They taste like Cocoa Pebbles after you add the milk! A delicious sweet cocoa and then the satisfying crunch of the almond and a nice lingering scent on your fingers. I say buy these in bulk and skip the calorie packs!
