And some other questions…

Have you ever received a card that wasn’t card? Maybe it was a cookie instead? Or maybe even both? Provided with a free sample of such a card, I decided to take a bite and find out- is a cookie card too pretty to eat? Or just pretty enough?

This particular cookie card is asking me (Louise) to “Be My Bridesmaid” for mystery woman and Oliver’s wedding. While the ficticious couple may not actually wish me to wander down an aisle, I can’t but help enjoy their taste. (Get it?!)

Appearance
The cookie came wrapped up very well and with a gel pack to keep it cool and from melting, plus bubble wrap. The box housing the cookie came with a wide white ribbon and an interior plastic bag to keep all the sprinkles together.
The cookie itself is quite pretty and despite the shipping trip, most of the sprinkles were still attached to the card. The thin (what looks like paper) layer with all the printing on it doesn’t look edible, but I am about to find out.

Appearance Inside
I broke off a piece to see what the paper like part would do. Surprisingly, it broke off well and didn’t make a tearing sound like I thought it would. Instead it looks less like paper now and more like a thin icing that has hardened like on a cinnamon roll! Size wise, the cookie is 4.25 inches by 3.25 inches, so it’s more than a mouthful.

Smell
Smelled a lot better than I thought it would. I was positive that it was going to smell like cardboard and it didn’t at all. It reminds me a lot of the fresh cookies I used to get at the Safeway with my mom when I was a kid.

Taste
There’s a fair amount of sprinkles, which I was thinking would taint the cookie flavor, but it didn’t. The cookie itself is quite tasty, flaky but not messy, buttery and not overly sweet. When I bit into the middle where there are no sprinkles I didn’t find it to be lacking and that I could in fact, devour the whole card easily. I thought it would be weird, eating words (literally) but once I hit that 5th and 6th bite, I no longer cared and ate “joy and pride” like it was a Snickers.

If you someone you know needs to ask a bridesmaid, flower girl, groomsman or maid of honor, have them show that they care. Say it with sprinkles! These edible cookie cards are on sale now for 10% off their regular price of $10, are personalized free and you choose the dress color, ribbon color and sprinkle color and shapes.
