Dagoba Organic Chocolate is no stranger to any chocolate candy lover, but some of the flavors are a bit harder and fewer in between to find. I’ve had their Ginger Lemon, but today I’ve found something new to me:
Lavender Blueberry- a dark chocolate with lavender essence and wild blueberries.

Packaging
The soft lavender color makes me think of my bathrobe, but the interior packaging demonstrates a nice thick paper and silver wrapper to help me justify the $3 cost per bar.

Appearance
It would appear that my sample is damaged somehow. I swear I did not leave it out in the car or under an air unit of some kind anywhere. The sample over at the Chocoblog, shows that it’s supposed to be a nice dark, rich chocolate color. Oops. Smells good though.

Appearance Inside
Uh oh, the dark color says that the exterior of my bar is indeed not supposed to be a milk chocolate color. If I could only remember which retailer I got it from!

Taste
The dark chocolate is crumbly and strong and the lavender essence comes in over the top and leaves a pleasant aftertaste. The little dried blueberries aren’t many, so if you have a sizable piece (like a full square) in your mouth, their flavor is lost. By breaking it into smaller pieces, I was able to enjoy the blueberry flavor as well.
Was it worth it? Nah, my sample wasn’t anyway. It wasn’t awful by any means, it’s just that lavender doesn’t make me want to eat more chocolate and that defeats the purpose of my existence.
