Chocolate Peppermint Recipes for the Season

There are a lot of great recipes coming out around this time of year and in particular, some very excellent chocolate ones. But it keeping with the spirit of the season, Cocoa-Heaven brings to you our very favorite chocolate peppermint recipes of the season! Click on the name of the recipe for the full instructions.

Get started with a basics: A Chocolate Peppermint Ganache.
1 pint cream
1 1/2 lbs dark chocolate 60-75% cacao, organic and fair trade
1/4 tsp of pure peppermint extract

How about the seriously decadent Triple Chocolate Cookies n’ Cream Peppermint Bark?

8-oz dark chocolate, chopped
8-oz milk chocolate, chopped
8-oz white chocolate, chopped
2 cups crushed peppermint Oreo-type cookies
or 1 cup crushed peppermint candies

8 ounces bittersweet chocolate, melted and cooled
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup Dutch cocoa powder
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
8 tablespoons (1 stick) unsalted butter, room temperature
1 1/3 cups light-brown sugar, firmly packed
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1/4 cup milk
1 cup confectioners’ sugar, plus more for rolling
1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract

2 cups all purpose flour
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature
1 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 large egg yolk
6 ounces bittersweet or semisweet chocolate, chopped (or use chocolate chips)
1 cup chopped Hershey’s Candy Cane Kisses (or use crumbled candy canes)
2 ounces white chocolate

4 ounces good dark chocolate or white chocolate
A dozen peppermint candy canes
