Chocolate Covered Fruit
17 Jun
What better way to get your daily intake of fruit than to savor each bite covered in chocolate? Sure, the pure taste of chocolate alone is wonderful, but once in awhile a little variety snuck in there can rekindle a taste sensation. Today I’m listing out some of the best chocolate covered fruits available online so that you can build your own food pyramid to taste!

Chukar Cherries: Based in the Pacific Northwest, Chukar Cherries has long been offering up it’s large selection to tourists and natives alike in the Pike Place Market. However they can also be found in stores, but most importantly for the purposes of this experiment, online. While online doesn’t have the fun of the free samples like in the market, I can assure you that no matter what you get, you’ll be pleased. Best Bet: Classic Dark Chocolate Covered Cherries. Can’t decide? Get the Quartet, which features the Milk Chocolate Cherries, Bing Chocolate Cherries, Cabernet Chocolate Cherries, Amaretto Rainier Chocolate Cherries.
Dilettante Chocolates: These guys take coating fruit in chocolate very seriously. The product is actually called a “dragees” which is the French word meaning “to dredge.” Dragees are created with revolving pans which completely coat the fruit in chocolate. The thick coating on each piece will even further convince you that the method does indeed make the candy. Best bet: The Fruit Medly Tub. Get a little bit of everything!

Harry & David: Who could forget the pioneers of Moose Munch treats, Fruit of the Month Club and of course, their own take on chocolate covered fruit? While they don’t have the extensive variety that Chukar offers or Dilettante, they do offer quality and a pretty box to boot. Currently online the Four-in-One Fruit Chocolates is all they’re offering, but worth the taste? You bet.
And last but not least, where would we be without the simple chocolate covered strawberry? Whether you make it yourself, buy at the grocery store or have it shipped overnight, there is nothing quite like a large, ripe strawberry dipped in chocolate and drizzled with more chocolate!
