Chocolate Candy in the News

As usual, we strive to bring you an assortment of news, tidbits, tastes and sweet bites from around the world and today the news isn’t in chocolate candy form itself, but rather the faux, the scent and the environmentally friendly.

Axe Body Spray has launched a new Facebook application that was meant to be delicious but I actually find quite disturbing. In celebration of their new Dark Temptation line of products, users can “chocolatize” themselves and post their Han Solo (in carbonite) likeness on their profile page. Will it catch on like The Simpsons’ Simpsonizer?

Doubtful. (And yes, I know, Valentine’s Day has come and gone.)

In an article that does not need any images or pictures posted with it, Cadbury’s Chocolates announced that they would be working with the farmers that produce the milk necessary for their fabulous chocolate to cut methane emissions into the atmosphere. While we all appreciate less gas in the air, I don’t think it’s what I’ll use as my top criteria for choosing my next chocolate candy treat. So thanks to Cadbury’s for thinking of and taking of this, so I will never have to wonder about my chocolate carbon footprint via cow.

And if you can’t eat it, wear it. Earlier I found a designer that made real chocolate candy jewelry but after awhile, they couldn’t promise it wouldn’t melt. So if that didn’t seem like a worthwhile investment these days, check out Katja Hunold’s chocolate inspired line of jewelry. Cute, non toxic and fun!
