Cadbury’s Easter Mallows

I saw “limited edition” that bright purple packaging, Cadbury’s and “mallows” and I was sold. Enough that I made a special trip over to Cost Plus to pick up a package of these Easter themed treats of “mallow teacakes with jaffa orange flavoured jam filling covered with milk chocolate.”

Cadbury’s Easter Mallows

Packaging
I love the bright purple of Cadbury’s and this package is no exception. The yellow bunnies hiding behind the cakes on the front look terrified though. That or stalker-like. The smell when opening the package is amazing.

Appearance
I very much enjoy this treat’s counterpart that is found in grocery stores year round, the marshmallow puff over a cookie coated with chocolate and this dome like chocolate candy confection is building up some anticipation.

Appearance Inside
The orange jaffa jam section looks plentiful enough, the marshmallow was difficult to cut and separate, indicating a very thick marshmallow that might be a little tough for my taste buds, but we’ll see. The chocolate coating is not a “chocolatey” coating (thank you food admin tsars of the E.U.) and looks fairly thick for this kind of treat.

Taste
The cookie is crumbly, but not dry and the marshmallow isn’t as hard as I thought it would be at all, just chewy. The orange jam is just enough to lend it a nice sweet tang, but not overpowering nor does it get lost behind the cookie or marshmallow. I could eat at least 3 of these with a glass of milk and call the entire day a success. These are most certainly a reasonable replacement for the chocolatey coated grocery store variety.
