3 Musketeers Truffle Crisp

I loves me a 3 Musketeers bar. That whipped up light chocolate mousse covered with more chocolate makes me hungry just thinking about it. It’s the bar that I seek when give options of Fun Sizes to pick from, so of course when gifted with the new Truffle Crisp option I was very pleased. I love the 3 Musketeers Mint version, but will Truffle Crisp be able to measure up?

Packaging
Classic 3 Musketeers colors, a little more light blue and of course an image of the product to make sure you know you’re not eating a regular 3 Musketeers. What I would like to know though is where are the actual Musketeers? They’re absent from the wrapper. I know they’re not on the current one or mint either- but they SHOULD be!

Appearance
These are really pretty actually. The swirly pattern on back may or may not be by accident, but either way it looks fancy. The swirl over the top helps too and the interior looks really neat and clean, just like on a commercial. The bar even makes a neat tiny snap when a piece is broken off.

Taste
So that same delicious whipped chocolate mousse is there, can’t go wrong with that. Same with chocolate coating, classic but in a thinner variety. What’s weirding me out is the crisp part. It’s some sort of meringue- confirmed by “egg whites” on the ingredients list that reminds me a lot of meringue cookies. I never liked how those feel on my teeth or how it would break up in my mouth like chalk. It tastes like almost nothing, which is what meringue is- just sugar and egg whites, but other than a small satisfying snap when I bite off a piece, it’s weirding me out.

Bottom line: If you like meringue cookies and the like- get this, you’ll love it. If you don’t- go with a Mint Musketeers instead.
