The 3 Most Amazing Chocolate World Records
World records: People love to hear about the best on the entire planet. So why not combine two of the coolest things ever? Chocolate and world records. Here are three amazing feats.
World’s Tallest Chocolate Sculpture
Back in 2006, a pastry chef by the name of Alain Roby created a chocolate behemoth: A 20-foot 8-inch chocolate replica of the Chrysler Building, the Empire State Building and Rockefeller Center (pictured above). Just how much chocolate did it take? 2,200 pounds. Above is a photo from its unveiling at FAO Schwartz in New York.
World’s Largest Chocolate Sculpture
And you thought 2,200 pounds was huge.
Try this on for size: Qzina Specialty Foods holds the Guinness World Record for the world’s largest chocolate sculpture, an 18,239 pound chocolate model of the Mayan Temple of Kukulkan at Chichen Itza. Astoundingly, it beat the previous record holder by more than 1,000 pounds.
World’s Biggest Chocolate Bar
How about getting all these ingredients together for this recipe?
- 1,200 pounds of almonds
- 5,500 pounds of sugar
- 2,000 pounds of milk powder
- 1,700 pounds of cocoa butter
- 1,400 pounds of chocolate liquor
In the end, World’s Finest Chocolate created a 12,000-pound chocolate bar back in September 2011 — a Guinness World Record. To witness it for yourself, check out some awesome photos from NBC News.
